Job Description
A software engineer responsible for developing and maintaining distributed microservices for ArcGIS Enterprise, focusing on spatial data analytics, cloud-native architectures, and scalable systems to deliver mapping and GIS capabilities across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices for ArcGIS Image Server and Raster Analytics Server
- Build and maintain frameworks and SDKs for API consumption and integration
- Apply modern development practices to create scalable and resilient distributed systems
- Collaborate with teams to improve workflows across build, testing, and deployment of cloud-native applications
- Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system failures
Requirements
- 2 years of professional experience as a backend systems engineer building cloud-native commercial software
- Strong proficiency with modern C programming practices and idioms
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar environments
- Hands-on experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of web technologies including REST APIs, HTTP, networking, security, scalability, and cloud-native architectures
- Strong problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills, with the ability to optimize complex systems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment and quickly learn new technologies
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
