Job Description

This role involves managing and growing relationships with state government clients by leveraging geospatial technology solutions, understanding customer needs, and driving sales and adoption of Esri's GIS products through strategic account management and consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and develop location strategies for organizations.
  • Maintain a pipeline of business growth opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Demonstrate industry knowledge and relevance of GIS to customer needs.
  • Identify key stakeholders and understand customer budgeting and acquisition processes.
  • Use solution selling to address customer needs and business challenges.
  • Articulate the value of Esri technology related to state governments.
  • Conduct research and pursue professional development to anticipate customer needs and trends.
  • Execute account management and sales processes for opportunities.
  • Support visual storytelling and propose solutions through techniques like whiteboard sessions.
  • Collaborate with team members to define and implement account strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of enterprise sales and/or relevant consulting or program management experience.
  • Experience creating partnerships and establishing oneself as a trusted advisor with customers.
  • Understanding of account management, account planning, and opportunity strategy creation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state government and new technology trends, with the ability to translate this into solutions for customers.
  • Ability to negotiate, present, and support visual storytelling across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
