Job Description
The Safety Specialist provides Occupational Safety and Health support to trades and maintenance personnel, overseeing safety programs, conducting training, and promoting a strong safety culture in various operational environments at a federal site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee safety programs and training related to operation and maintenance activities, including fall protection, confined space entry, and forklift operations.
- Promote a strong safety culture among trades and maintenance workforce.
- Ensure compliance with federal and organizational safety standards.
- Engage directly with employees performing physical and technical work to support safety practices.
Requirements
- Provide Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) support to trades and maintenance workforce, including overseeing safety programs and training related to operation and maintenance activities such as fall protection, confined space entry, and forklift operations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with federal and organizational safety standards.
- Engage directly with employees performing physical and technical work in shops, laboratories, and field environments in a proactive and hands-on manner.
- Support the Infrastructure Division by overseeing safety programs and training related to operation and maintenance activities.
- Possess the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Be highly motivated and capable of engaging directly with employees performing physical and technical work.
- Possess full-time availability at the federal site in Indian Head, MD.
- Have the ability to support and interact with ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG’s Fairfax and Arlington offices.
