Job Description
The Utility Operator is responsible for the continuous and safe operation of plant equipment, including monitoring, maintenance, and support activities to ensure efficient biomass production in a challenging outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile equipment such as skid steer, forklift, lull, and front-end loaders
- Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance to ensure proper functioning
- Support routine inspections and maintenance of dryer, furnace, emissions, and environmental equipment
- Perform daily preventative maintenance activities including cleaning and tooling changes
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations
Requirements
- Operate mobile equipment including skid steer, forklift, lull, and front-end loaders safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance to keep equipment in clean, good working order.
- Support and carry out activities involving routine inspections and maintenance of the dryer, furnace, emissions, and environmental equipment.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance activities on equipment and standard work cleaning activities such as cleaning emissions equipment strainers, tooling changes, housekeeping, and wash downs.
- Be knowledgeable and experienced with heavy equipment operation.
- Work with little to no supervision and quickly learn new tasks.
- Safely and efficiently perform all essential functions of the job.
- Understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
- Operate machinery in a timely and safe manner.

Work environment includes outdoor conditions, hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments
Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours a day
