This position offers hands-on training in plant operations, including rail load out, quality testing, and equipment maintenance, preparing individuals for roles within a sustainable wood bioenergy production facility.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all workplace and job safety procedures
Load rail cars according to proper procedures and record weights in the computer
Sample and test raw, in-process materials, and finished goods, recording results
Check, adjust, and clean pellet mill and hammer mill machines to ensure proper operation
Complete necessary paperwork accurately
Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and Bobcats to assist operations
Communicate with the Operations team and escalate issues as needed
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas to meet housekeeping standards
Requirements
Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required
Excellent communication skills
Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines
Willingness to work different shifts as needed with proper notification
High School diploma or GED
Previous work experience in a manual position
Mechanical aptitude
Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
Work includes high places more than 100 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
