Job Description
This position offers hands-on training in plant operations, including rail load out, quality testing, and equipment maintenance, preparing individuals for roles within a sustainable wood bioenergy production facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all workplace and job safety procedures
- Load rail cars according to proper procedures and record weights in the computer
- Sample and test raw, in-process materials, and finished goods, recording results
- Check, adjust, and clean pellet mill and hammer mill machines to ensure proper operation
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and Bobcats to assist operations
- Communicate with the Operations team and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas to meet housekeeping standards
Requirements
- Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines
- Willingness to work different shifts as needed with proper notification
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in a manual position
- Mechanical aptitude
- Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Work includes high places more than 100 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
