The staff accountant supports monthly accounting and finance activities at a renewable energy plant, including financial close, inventory management, accounts payable, and operational analysis to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Support monthly accounting activities, including preparing journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to improve accuracy and operational decision-making.
Process and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and compliance with financial policies.
Manage accounts payable, including three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
Maintain and reconcile inventory records for raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods.
Record and verify plant load-out transactions and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
Ensure timely vendor payments and proper documentation filing for invoices and purchase orders.
Requirements
At least 2-4 years relevant accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance, or related quantitative field
Experience processing a high volume of invoices and/or purchase orders
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work activities, manage time efficiently, and follow policies and procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP system
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data
