Job Description
The staff accountant supports monthly accounting and finance activities at a renewable energy plant, including financial close, reconciliations, inventory management, and processing invoices, to improve operational efficiency and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly accounting activities, including preparing journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
- Process and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and compliance with policies.
- Manage accounts payable, including three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
- Maintain and reconcile inventory records for raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods.
- Record and verify plant load-out transactions and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
- Ensure timely vendor payments and proper documentation filing.
Requirements
- At least 2-4 years relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance, or related quantitative field
- Experience processing a high volume of invoices and/or purchase orders
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work activities, manage time efficiently, and follow policies and procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data
- Willing and able to work in an industrial environment
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment as needed
- Minimal travel may be required to other Enviva plant locations
