The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing plant operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality output in a sustainable wood bioenergy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost targets are met
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and maintain high-quality output on the production floor
Address issues that arise during production and ensure equipment is safely operated and maintained
Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability
Ensure a safe working environment and enforce safety and housekeeping standards
Conduct shift meetings and communicate operational updates regularly
Perform tasks assigned by the Production Manager to support successful plant operation
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years industrial manufacturing experience in wood products background.
Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be a team player.
High school diploma or equivalent education; associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues.
Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft.
Must be able to push, pull, and lift items up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully, consistent with the ADA and federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
