Job Description
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing plant operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality output in a sustainable wood bioenergy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost targets are met.
- Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure high-quality output on the production floor.
- Address issues that arise during production and ensure equipment is safely operated and maintained.
- Maintain documentation related to employee performance and accountability.
- Ensure a safe working environment and enforce safety and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate operational updates regularly.
- Perform duties assigned by the Production Manager to support successful plant operation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years industrial manufacturing experience in wood products background.
- Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
- Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a team player.
- High school diploma or equivalent education; associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues.
- Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards, consistent with the ADA and applicable standards.
