The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing plant operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality in a sustainable wood bioenergy production environment, overseeing daily tasks, team performance, and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost targets are met
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and address issues on the production floor
Ensure equipment is safely operated, well-maintained, and functioning properly
Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability
Establish and uphold a safe working environment and good housekeeping standards
Conduct shift meetings and communicate daily updates effectively
Complete and ensure accuracy of paperwork and reporting related to production
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years industrial manufacturing experience in wood products background.
Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be a team player.
High school diploma or equivalent education; Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues.
Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft.
Must be able to push, pull and lift items up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully, consistent with the ADA and federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
