The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing plant operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality output in a sustainable wood bioenergy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost performance.
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and address issues on the production floor.
Ensure equipment is safely operated, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards.
Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability.
Establish and uphold a safe working environment and good housekeeping standards.
Conduct shift meetings and communicate operational updates regularly.
Complete and ensure accuracy of reporting and paperwork related to production activities.
Perform work as assigned by the Production Manager to support successful plant operations.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years industrial manufacturing experience in wood products background.
Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be a team player.
High school diploma or equivalent education; Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues.
Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft.
Must be able to push, pull and lift items up to 50 lbs.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
