The Senior Staff Accountant supports monthly accounting, financial analysis, and operational improvement activities at a renewable energy plant, ensuring accurate financial transactions, inventory management, and compliance with policies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and support documentation during monthly financial close
Perform balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with bi-weekly forecasts and annual budget preparation
Reconcile and process accounts payable and purchase invoices
Ensure compliance with financial policies and proper coding of transactions
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
Maintain documentation and filing of invoices and payments
Manage weekly and monthly inventories of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables
Account for finished goods inventory shipped from the plant
Monitor and record plant load-out activities and reconcile daily loads
Requirements
At least 4-7 years relevant accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance, or related quantitative field
Experience processing a high volume of invoices and/or purchase orders
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work activities, manage time efficiently, and follow policies and procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP system
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
Willing and able to work in an industrial environment
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment as needed
Willing to travel minimally to other Enviva plant locations
