Job Description

The Quality Supervisor at Enviva is responsible for overseeing quality control and assurance processes at the plant, managing laboratory operations, leading continuous improvement projects, and supervising hourly staff to ensure product quality meets customer specifications in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve plant quality operations to meet customer specifications
  • Manage laboratory operations, including testing, training, and maintaining test equipment
  • Develop and maintain quality control tools, test procedures, and perform root cause analysis
  • Oversee sample collection, testing, and tracking of finished goods quality metrics
  • Develop best practices for product handling, storage, and equipment maintenance to ensure quality and safety
  • Conduct special projects to investigate quality issues and optimize plant operations
  • Lead and supervise hourly employees, including conducting pre-shift meetings, training, and corrective actions
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions through RCA cause mapping
  • Supervise receiving personnel as a backup to the terminal manager

Requirements

  • At least 4 years experience in Quality, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity or equivalent education
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time and be able to respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Desire to learn quickly and be challenged to take on higher levels of responsibility
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity, holding self and other accountable
  • Ability to lead hourly team members and flexibility to work odd hours when required to support plant
  • Must be able to work in environments that reach temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
  • Able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
  • Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
  • Majority of time spent in lab setting, with time in the field to collect samples and troubleshoot results
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces up to 100 ft occasionally
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift items up to 50 lbs
  • Able to frequently walk or stand and to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift items above shoulders on an occasional basis
  • Must use required provided PPE such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe boots, and hearing protection
  • This position is not eligible for visa support
