Job Description
The Plant Controller at Enviva is responsible for overseeing financial control, reporting, and analysis of plant operations, including budgeting, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial control and reporting for all plant operations
- Perform financial analysis and oversee month-end close processes
- Develop and report key operational and financial metrics
- Coordinate the plant's annual budget and forecasting activities
- Monitor and account for capital projects, fixed assets, and inventory
- Manage plant procurement and ensure controls for liabilities and expenses
- Prepare and coordinate filing of state and local tax returns
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain proper documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related quantitative field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing organization, with previous plant controllership experience highly preferred
- Proven ability to manage and lead direct reports
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to drive business operating results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge of Excel, Word, and accounting systems
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work activities, manage time efficiently, and follow policies and procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
- Willing and able to work in an industrial environment and adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment as needed
- Willing and able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
