Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery in a 24/7 pellet manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repairs, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance on critical and auxiliary machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and service mobile equipment to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain hydraulics and lubrication of mechanical equipment following technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Collaborate with operations to increase equipment reliability and plant performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to obtain a GED within the first 6 months of employment
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management or manual systems
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Willing and able to work twelve 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must be able to read and follow technical diagrams and schematics
  • Must be able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day
  • Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
  • Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and servicing of mobile equipment
  • Must adhere to all plant environmental, health, and safety guidelines, policies, and practices, including OSHA standards
  • Must be willing to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva
  • Must be able to provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime
  • Must be willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
