The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery in a 24/7 pellet manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repairs, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance on machinery to ensure reliability.
Troubleshoot and service mobile equipment to minimize downtime.
Maintain hydraulics and lubrication of mechanical equipment following technical diagrams and schematics.
Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines and policies.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
Collaborate with operations to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to obtain a GED within the first 6 months of employment.
Experience with computerized maintenance management or manual systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Willing and able to work twelve 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, in a 24x7 plant operation.
Must be able to work safely obeying OSHA and Enviva safety standards.
Willing and able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
Willing and able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees, including hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
Must be able to perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and servicing of mobile equipment to improve equipment reliability.
Must be able to read and follow technical diagrams and schematics.
Must adhere to all plant environmental, health, and safety guidelines, policies, and practices.
Must be willing to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva.
