Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery in a 24/7 pellet manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repairs, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance on machinery to ensure reliability.
- Troubleshoot and service mobile equipment to minimize downtime.
- Maintain hydraulics and lubrication systems, including proper application of lubricants.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics for maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines and policies.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with operations to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to obtain a GED within the first 6 months of employment
- Experience with computerized maintenance management or manual systems
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Willing and able to work twelve 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Must be able to read and follow technical diagrams and schematics
- Must be able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day
- Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to adhere to all plant environmental, health, and safety guidelines, policies, and practices, including OSHA standards
- Must be willing to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva
- Must be able to perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and servicing of mobile equipment
- Must be able to provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime
- Must be able to work safely and obey OSHA and Enviva safety standards
- Must be willing to perform tasks in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments
- Must be able to identify and document specification equipment and submit for follow-on inspection and corrective maintenance as applicable
- Must be willing to support continuous improvement of lubrication and preventive maintenance programs
- Must be able to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment
