Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery in a 24/7 pellet manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repairs, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance on machinery to ensure reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and service mobile equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain hydraulics and lubrication systems, including proper application of lubricants.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics for maintenance procedures.
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to obtain a GED within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management or manual systems.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be willing and able to work twelve 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Must be able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees, including hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, and work safely obeying OSHA and Enviva safety standards.
  • Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and servicing of mobile equipment.
  • Ability to provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
  • Willingness to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva.
  • Must be able to work in environments that may include temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees, and in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours.
  • Must be able to work around moving equipment and machinery safely.
