Job Description
The position involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery used in pellet manufacturing, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. It requires working with various tools and equipment, adhering to safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and inspections on critical and auxiliary machinery in pellet manufacturing.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair motors, fans, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and other equipment.
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain piping and various equipment using hand and power tools.
- Operate mobile equipment and perform rigging as needed.
- Analyze equipment performance and implement changes to improve throughput and quality.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Follow safety, environmental, and health guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be able to work safely obeying OSHA and Enviva standards for practices.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb ladders.
- Experience in preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, servicing mobile heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in hydraulics, lubrication, and mechanical equipment basic understanding of types of lubricants and application of each.
- Ability to analyze process flow to identify issues.
- Ability to cut, thread, and lay pipes, and repair, install, maintain various types of equipment.
- Ability to repair, maintain, troubleshoot pumps, conveyors, valves, cylinders, bearings, motors and other types of rotating equipment.
- Meticulous, attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management system.
- Skilled in use of Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Must be willing to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva.
- High School Diploma or equivalent technical degree (preferred).
- A minimum of three (3) years experience working in manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Knowledge and experience with industrial electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings and welding (preferred).
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate records (preferred).
- Proficient in mathematics and measurements (preferred).
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, vibration analysis and precision alignment (preferred).
- Able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, bending, squatting, crawling, and pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
- Must use required provided PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, safety toe boots, hearing protection.
- Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- Willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice.
- Must be available to work any shift any day, including required overtime.
- Ability to work well in high places in excess of 100 feet, climb ladders, climb a crane, and use man lifts.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- This position is not eligible for visa support.
