Job Description

The position involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery in a wood pellet manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely while adhering to environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine lubrication preventive maintenance on all equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery issues
  • Monitor and maintain inventories of fuel, oil, filters, etc.
  • Analyze and plan maintenance actions based on oil analysis reports
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery before and after lubrication
  • Complete work orders and route sheets related to lubrication tasks
  • Provide feedback to improve maintenance routes and equipment
  • Ensure proper storage and inventory of lubricants and supplies
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines and policies

Requirements

  • Perform routine lubrication preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery associated with 24/7 pellet manufacturing.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections on all machinery and equipment.
  • Identify and document out of specification equipment and submit for follow-on inspection and corrective maintenance as applicable.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery prior to and after lubrication.
  • Complete required route sheets and work orders related to lubrication routes.
  • Monitor and maintain inventories of fuel, oil, filters, and other maintenance supplies.
  • Work with Maintenance Coordinator and/or CBM technician to analyze and plan action from Oil Analysis reports.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and lubricant storage standards.
  • Ensure proper inventory of lubrication is readily available on site.
  • Adhere to all plant environmental, health, and safety guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Possess meticulous attention to detail.
  • Have experience with preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in hydraulics, lubrication, and mechanical equipment.
  • Have a basic understanding of types of lubricants and their applications.
  • Have experience reading technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Have experience with vibration analysis and precision alignment (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Be able to work well in high places in excess of 80 feet, use man lifts, and work in confined spaces.
  • Be willing to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have experience with computerized maintenance management systems or manual systems.
  • Possess basic knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Have previous experience in a similar role with fluid power or lubrication (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Be willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Willing and able to strictly adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, crawling, and pulling for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb a crane in excess of 100 feet high.
  • Able to work from heights at least 20 feet off the ground.
  • Able to climb vertical ladders, both fixed and portable, up to 20 feet in length.
  • Able to climb multiple flights of steps and angled ramps as needed.
  • Able to work on a computer screen for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Able to walk construction sites at various stages of completion and weather conditions for up to 12 hours per day.
