Job Description

The Human Resources Manager will oversee and implement HR policies, employee relations, performance management, and talent development at a manufacturing site, supporting the company's sustainability goals and ensuring a positive, compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage human resource policies, labor relations, benefits, compliance, performance management, and compensation.
  • Provide leadership to develop and maintain contemporary HR practices, processes, and systems.
  • Monitor employee engagement and implement strategies to enhance workplace environment.
  • Investigate employee relations issues and execute corrective actions.
  • Manage site-level leaves of absence, including FMLA and short-term disability.
  • Partner with site operations to drive performance and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in leadership team to advise on HR matters and support talent development.
  • Source, select, onboard, and retain employees.
  • Maintain HR metrics and reporting to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of work experience in Human Resources.
  • Work experience in a manufacturing or similar environment required.
  • Experience with rapid and complex work environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Exercises good judgement with respect to keeping confidential information.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to write reports.
  • Working knowledge of non-exempt and exempt workforce.
  • Working knowledge of basic employment laws.
  • Proven experience resolving associate relations issues.
  • Comfortable with a high-volume workload and not afraid to be boots on the ground.
  • Able to effectively function as the sole Human Resources representative at the site-level.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders in a wide range of environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
