Job Description
The Electrical Supervisor leads and manages the electrical team in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations while supporting production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organize the electrical team, including scheduling, training, and evaluating team members.
- Diagnose, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in compliance with safety standards and codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair control systems such as ENI, HMI, PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and instrumentation.
- Monitor production process parameters and make adjustments to ensure safe and efficient equipment performance.
- Participate in root cause analysis and equipment performance improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Supervise and train employees to meet productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Coordinate during shutdowns, conduct shift meetings, and manage operational documentation and inspections.
Requirements
- At least two 2 years manufacturing Experience
- At least four years of electrical experience
- Must demonstrate an electrical aptitude and experience working with high voltages 480V to 4160V
- Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently utilize assigned appliances and tools
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate records
- Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge
- Ability to interpret sketches, blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
- Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules
- Willing and able to maintain and enforce strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including safety equipment
- Availability to provide necessary coverage in a continuous operational plant
- High School degree or equivalent plus four 4 years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience OR Associate's degree in related field, plus two 2 years of experience
- Experience in wood products, pelletizing operations, or similar manufacturing environment (preferred but not mandatory)
- Proficient in mathematics and measurements (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience in PLC programming and working with automated controls, instrumentation devices and electrical distribution equipment (preferred but not mandatory)
- Computer knowledge MS Office 365, email, teams, etc. (preferred but not mandatory)
- Demonstrated leadership including lead person or supervisor back up experience (preferred but not mandatory)
- Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
- Work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight on assigned shifts or to address unexpected issues with or without notice
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA
- Ability to work from heights and confined spaces
- Able to climb multiple flights of steps, ramps, vertical ladders, scaffolds fixed or portable
- Able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Ability to perform work while wearing PPE including Arc Flash protection
