Job Description
The Assistant Vice President of Biology will lead the discovery of natural product-derived bioactive compounds and support the development of novel drugs, while mentoring a team to establish and validate biological assays and investigate disease-relevant biomarkers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery of natural product-derived bioactive compounds.
- Support development of novel drugs aligned with strategic priorities.
- Establish and validate biological assays.
- Investigate disease relevant biomarkers and end-points.
- Support biological activity assessment of early hits.
- Deliver robust data packages for Clinical Candidate Selection.
- Ensure timely delivery of pipeline milestones.
- Make rapid data-guided decisions on project priorities.
- Provide project updates to leadership and mentor project teams.
- Monitor compliance and best practices in record keeping.
- Generate study reports to support regulatory filings.
Requirements
- Lead efforts in the discovery of natural product-derived bioactive compounds and support the development of novel drugs for diseases aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.
- Establish and validate biological assays related to the therapeutic area of interest.
- Investigate disease relevant biomarkers and disease-relevant end-points to support biological activity assessment of early Hits and Medicinal Chemistry efforts for Hit Assessment.
- Deliver robust data packages to support Clinical Candidate Selection.
- Ensure timely delivery of pipeline milestones.
- Make rapid data-guided decisions on project priorities.
- Provide succinct and effective project updates to the leadership team.
- Mentor project team members.
- Monitor compliance and best practices in record keeping.
- Generate study reports to support regulatory filings.
- Work closely with the Chief Product Officer and the Pipeline Interim Head of all Research and Development.
