Job Description

A hands-on Software Architect responsible for leading technical modernization, organizational design, platform strategy, and cross-team mentorship to drive scalable, efficient, and business-aligned software solutions in a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architectural modernization by transitioning to a distributed architecture using Domain-Driven Design and balancing technical purity with business ROI.
Apply sociotechnical organizational design principles, such as Conway's Law and the Inverse Conway Maneuver, to create scalable, loosely coupled software teams.
Guide the creation and management of an internal developer platform to reduce cognitive load and promote team autonomy.
Build scalable frameworks for knowledge transfer and decision-making, including RFCs and Architecture Decision Records, to elevate engineering capabilities.
Act as a liaison between executive leadership and engineering teams by translating technical constraints into financial and operational risks and calculating total cost of ownership.

Requirements

15 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of operating at a Principal or Distinguished level within complex, scaling environments.
Deep expertise in modern cloud architecture, distributed systems, data consistency patterns, and cloud economics (FinOps).
Demonstrated ability to drive organization-wide alignment, mediate ego-driven technical disputes, and influence multiple stream-aligned teams without relying on positional power.
Deep understanding of modern team structures and platform engineering metrics such as DORA and the SPACE framework to concretely prove the ROI of technical investments.
A leader who thrives in ambiguity, embraces rapid prototyping to de-risk unknown variables, and measures personal success by the autonomy and resilience of the teams supported.
