Job Description
A Power Electronics Test Engineering Intern responsible for designing and supporting Control Hardware in the Loop (CHIL) and Power Hardware in the Loop (PHIL) testing of grid-interactive inverters for utility-scale energy storage systems, gaining hands-on experience with advanced energy storage technologies and system troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support Control Hardware in the Loop (CHIL) testing of grid interactive inverters for energy storage systems
- Support Power Hardware in the Loop (PHIL) testing of grid interactive inverters
- Simulate, analyze, and troubleshoot complex energy storage control systems from inverter control board level to large-scale site controls
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in an undergraduate or graduate program related to electrical engineering, power electronics, or a similar field.
- Ability to design and support Control Hardware in the Loop (CHIL) and Power Hardware in the Loop (PHIL) testing of grid interactive inverters for utility scale energy storage systems.
- Practical and technical experience or coursework related to energy storage technologies, inverter control boards, and large-scale site level controls.
- Willingness to work closely with industry experts to simulate, analyze, and troubleshoot complex energy storage systems from inverter control board level to large scale site level controls.
