Job Description

The Policy Analyst supports the Electrification team by conducting research and analysis on policies and technologies that promote the electrification of buildings, transportation, and industry, and communicating findings to inform decision-making and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

Research policies and technologies supporting electrification of buildings, transportation, and industry
Conduct data analysis and develop policy recommendations tailored to different regions
Document analysis methods and results using best practices
Identify and utilize relevant economic, energy, and environmental data sources
Support the development of electrification policy scenarios and emissions mitigation pathways
Communicate research findings through reports, presentations, and visualizations
Create and deliver presentations to internal teams and public audiences
Respond to media inquiries and participate in media opportunities related to research findings

Requirements

At least 3-4 years of experience in energy and climate policy analysis, including an understanding of technical research and experience interpreting legislation and or regulations.
Understanding of the fundamentals of scientific and technical subject matter relating to environmental systems, climate change, energy technologies, and policy design.
Demonstrated excellence in writing about complex technical subjects for a non-technical audience.
Experience and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel data sets and data analysis.
Knowledge of U.S. or international politics related to climate.
Deep interest, passion, and commitment to reducing climate change.
Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment.
Willingness to travel.
Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, but able to work well on a team.
