Job Description
The Business Development Associate supports market analysis, site origination, and contract development for renewable energy projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate new market opportunities, research policies, and assist with land and customer acquisition efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze legislative, regulatory, and financial aspects of new market opportunities for clean energy projects.
- Support property rights and electric customer acquisition efforts, including site selection, parcel identification, and sales support.
- Negotiate land lease contracts and assist with early-stage project diligence and development.
- Utilize project-level financial models to evaluate and support early-stage business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new markets and develop project opportunities.
Requirements

- Experience supporting business development decisions through legislative, regulatory, and financial analysis of new and evolving market opportunities for clean energy projects, including geographic, market segments, and technologies.
- Ability to research and analyze state-level solar and clean energy policies, interconnection requirements, and incentive programs relevant to the development of grid-connected commercial and industrial solar and energy storage projects.
- Experience supporting property rights and electric customer acquisition efforts, including GIS-supported site selection, parcel identification, sales support, land lease contract negotiation efforts, and early-stage project diligence and development.
- Proficiency in utilizing project-level financial models to support early-stage evaluation and business development initiatives.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Project Development, Finance, and Legal to evaluate new markets.
- Educational background or experience relevant to clean energy, business development, or related fields (specific degree requirements are not explicitly stated but implied).
