Job Description
The Senior Accountant in the Financial Reporting department is responsible for ensuring high-quality external and internal financial reporting, interpreting technical accounting guidance, and supporting process improvements, SOX compliance, and collaboration with various internal teams and auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review external and internal financial reports ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Interpret and apply technical accounting guidance for financing, equity, and non-routine transactions
- Engage in process optimization and analytical review of financial data
- Ensure SOX compliance through control testing and documentation
- Collaborate with controllership, finance, treasury, legal, property management, and other internal teams
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external auditors during audits
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing external and internal financial reports.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical accounting guidance for financing, equity, and non-routine transactions.
- Experience with process optimization and analytical review of financial data.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and ability to engage in SOX-related activities.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate regularly with personnel within controllership, finance, treasury, legal, property management, and other organizational groups.
- Experience working with internal and external auditors, including being front-facing with auditors.
- Excellent understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting regulations.
- Ability to interpret complex financial transactions and ensure accurate reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to emerging business needs.
