Job Description
The Associate Director at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy consulting sector, managing workstreams, developing strategic solutions, and contributing to reports and presentations to support clean energy policies and market development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and communicate project findings through presentations and reports
- Identify approaches and methods for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and support proposal writing efforts
- Support the development of new business opportunities and contribute to strategic project and thought leadership
- Mentor and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in energy consulting, policy, regulation, or related fields, demonstrating the ability to support significant business development upon hiring.
- Deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy markets, policy, regulation, or related areas.
- Proven experience in managing, shaping, and developing practice areas within an energy consulting or similar organization.
- Experience in leading client-facing interactions, including identifying approaches and methods for medium-to-large sized projects, and delivering presentations and summaries to customers.
- Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while providing guidance to serve customers.
- Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee the management of existing tools and lead efforts on proposal writing.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, including coaching and providing feedback to others.
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working from the office at least 2-3 days per week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Availability to travel occasionally, up to 10 times per year, to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
