Job Description
A Senior Mechatronics Engineer at DroneDeploy is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software and integrated systems for ground robots and drones to enhance field scanning, inspection, and analysis capabilities, supporting the company's mission to make robotics data accessible and actionable for businesses worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software and integrated systems for ground robots and drones.
- Advance robotics capabilities to improve site scanning, inspection, and analysis processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners to develop features.
- Ensure seamless integration of robotics into real-world environments.
Requirements
- Designing, developing, and maintaining software and integrated systems for ground robots and drones that transform how worksites are scanned, inspected, and analyzed.
- Playing a pivotal role in advancing robotics capabilities as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at DroneDeploy.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and external technology partners to develop industry-leading features and ensure seamless integration of robotics into real-world environments.
- Being based in Auckland, New Zealand, and able to work from the Auckland office.
- Working onsite at least 3 days per week to collaborate with the team and interact directly with robots.
- Regularly collaborating with global colleagues with an expectation of good overlap with core business hours.
- Occasionally traveling domestically and internationally to attend team meetings, support customer deployments, and visit partner sites.
- Supporting international customers during site deployments or calls across US and European time zones as needed.
