• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and perform corrective maintenance on complex production systems to minimize downtime and maximize operational availability.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Apply a systematic approach to troubleshoot and diagnose off-normal conditions in mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• System Repairs & Alterations: Conduct hands-on repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades on one-of-a-kind equipment, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols.
• Documentation & Record Keeping: Meticulously log all maintenance actions, system performance data, and component history, maintaining a detailed and accurate record for turnover and engineering review.
• Safety & Compliance: Uphold a culture of safety and procedural compliance, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Take ownership of the safe operational condition of assigned equipment.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with pumps, valves, compressors, and fluid systems OR strong electrical aptitude with power distribution, control systems, and electronics.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to operate effectively under pressure, logically diagnose equipment casualties, and take decisive action to restore operation.
• Technical Documentation: Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from complex schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Operations & Maintenance Experience: Experience gained as a qualified operator or maintenance technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment is highly desired.
• Education & Bonus Skills: A technical degree or certification is a plus. Experience with lasers, vacuum systems, or high-pressure systems is a significant bonus. Completion of the Naval Nuclear Power School, Prototype, and a sea tour serves as an exceptional equivalent to formal education.
