Deep Sky is on a mission to accelerate the world's transition to carbon removal by developing and operating direct air capture (DAC) facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Rapidly develop electronics for Direct Air Carbon Capture reactors and supporting infrastructure including high power electronics, control systems and actuators, programmable logic controllers, reactor instrumentation, and harnessing.
Create and review electrical load lists, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) for various plant and facility designs.
Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and testing.
Design, procure components, integrate, and test electrical ground support equipment including data acquisition systems and electrical simulators.
Create development and qualification testing campaigns to validate analysis and requirements and exercise designs to their limits.
Build math and analysis models to verify initial design assumptions.
Establish vendor relationships and healthy supply chain through each prototyping step through final integration.
Lead multidisciplinary root cause investigations and component redesigns to improve reliability and production rate.
Demonstrate extreme ownership of product outcomes at every stage of development and production.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, avionics, hardware, robotics, physics or other related STEM discipline.
3+ years of engineering design experience (will count up to 1 year of internships, student projects, and/or extracurricular projects)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere.
Strong judgment in assessing risk and making decisions without complete data.
Hands-on experience with electrical design, prototyping, integration, and testing.
Proficient in electrical CAD and analysis software (e.g., Altium or similar).
Self-motivated, strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
Some travel may be required.
