Job Description
The role involves leading strategic transaction origination and execution within the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and storage projects, to support the company's growth and energy transition initiatives. It includes evaluating and managing mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises, while collaborating across teams and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- •Evaluate strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and capital raises.
- •Lead screening efforts for potential strategic transactions and present findings to the Executive Team.
- •Manage end-to-end transaction processes including valuation, risk analysis, negotiations, documentation, and closing.
- •Develop transaction models and perform valuation and sensitivity analysis.
- •Identify and evaluate project, portfolio, and platform acquisition targets in the renewable energy sector.
- •Collaborate on due diligence workstreams across development, legal, and finance teams.
- •Support development of relationships with financial advisors, capital markets participants, and industry peers.
- •Manage external experts and advisors to support transaction objectives.
- •Champion opportunities through approval processes such as Investment Committee and Board reviews.
- •Lead market intelligence efforts and prepare industry trend updates.
Requirements
- •A BA or BS degree is required; MBA or other quantitative graduate degrees are welcome.
- •4-6 years of relevant finance experience is required, preferably in the renewable energy industry, investment banking, principal investing, or corporate M A experience is strongly preferred.
- •In-depth understanding of renewable energy project financing concepts, including tax equity.
- •Solid transaction execution and negotiation experience, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- •Quantitative background with strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
- •Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
- •Ability to work well with multiple teams cross-functionally and in offices across the U.S.
- •Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- •Unimpeachable ethics and integrity.
- •Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance, and training to junior colleagues on the team.
