Requirements
10+ years in energy markets — power origination, utility commercial, or energy trading and structuring
Established senior relationships across IOUs, Co-ops, Hyperscalers and C&I energy buyers across multiple RTOs
Proven experience building and managing origination teams: strategy, people development, pipeline accountability and performance management
Player-coach: actively originating at senior level while leading the team’s day-to-day commercial execution
Deep knowledge of US power markets: RTO structure, LMP dynamics, capacity markets, large load tariffs, IRP and procurement cycles across MISO, SPP, SERC, WECC and PJM
Hands-on experience with short-term power trading, bilateral hedging and near-term market transactions applied to both asset optimization and customer origination
Demonstrated track record originating and executing utility offtake agreements PPAs, VPPAs, ESAs, build-transfer across multiple customer types and market structures
Working knowledge of natural gas markets and physical infrastructure sufficient for commercial conversations on gas generation and hybrid configurations
Experience across utility-scale solar/BESS and gas — hybrid and dispatchable configurations
Familiarity with ESA and Energy-as-a-Service commercial structures as an emerging product category
Background spanning utility, IPP, hyperscaler, energy trading firm and/or independent developer — breadth valued over depth at a single employer
Working knowledge of project finance, tax equity and capital stack implications sufficient for informed conversations with structuring and finance
Location: The preferred location for this role is one of our office locations: New York City, NY, or Chicago, IL. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office schedule of three days per week.
Compensation: The salary range for the position is $260,000-$305,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
