Job Description
The role involves managing a team of field technicians to perform maintenance on solar PV systems, ensuring optimal plant performance, safety, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the work of field technicians performing maintenance on solar PV systems
- Plan and schedule daily field operations to ensure optimal plant performance
- Coordinate with operations team to maximize system efficiency
- Manage subcontractors and external vendors involved in maintenance activities
- Identify safety hazards and implement measures to eliminate or mitigate risks
Requirements
- Experience with management of a diverse team of field technicians in solar PV systems maintenance.
- NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
- At least 2 years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring.
- Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
- Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection.
- Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
- Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found in PV systems.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
- Work in the field and in the office, complying with all safety standards and procedures.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Completion of OSHA 30 HR Training.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace.
- Ability to identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
