Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for tracking, organizing, and moving turbine engine parts through repair processes in a modern aerospace manufacturing environment, supporting production control and ensuring timely delivery and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track parts through repair processes and organize storage areas
  • Monitor completion times to increase throughput
  • Pick up and deliver parts between departments and buildings
  • Assist shipping and receiving with delivery of parts
  • Physically move parts using hoists, slings, carts, or handling methods
  • Use electronic tracking systems, including RFID technology, for part identification and location
  • Provide skids, carts, or racks to departments based on workload
  • Verify and organize staging areas, ensuring part details match
  • Coordinate part scrapping with relevant personnel
  • Support production scheduling and prioritize parts for departments

Requirements

  • One year's experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
  • Experience in the use of skids, pallet jacks, and forklifts lift trucks.
  • Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in being able to effectively communicate with team members, including participating in structured training.
  • High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Work in accordance with established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Physically move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
  • Use powered and non-powered hand tools frequently.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
  • Work in difficult positions from time to time, standing or sitting for portions of the shift.
