Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting daily accounting functions related to accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation, and compliance within a manufacturing environment, while collaborating with various departments and maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice matching and payment processing.
  • Reconcile accounts and identify errors in accounts payable and receivable details.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and credit card payments.
  • Maintain and update the company's checkbook, spreadsheets, and cash receipts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end account reconciliations and reporting, including 1099 and royalty reports.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding payables and receivables.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents and records.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable function as a backup.
  • Review freight charges and ensure accuracy in related billing.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and other departments to clarify transactions and ensure data accuracy.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business or other related field.
  • Three to five years previous accounting experience in preferably a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and follow CRT policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow written and verbal work instructions accurately.
  • Be flexible to meet or exceed productivity and competency requirements.
  • Communicate with all levels of employees within the organization.
  • Accurately complete tasks in an established standardized manner.
  • Assist Safran central AP team in preparing weekly generation of payment.
  • Prepare the weekly generation of payables for credit card payments.
  • Act as a backup to the Accounts Receivable Specialist.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable monthly detail including cash receipts, Accounts Payable aging, Accounts Receivable aging, and Accounts Payable control sheet.
  • Reconcile various accounts by identifying errors.
  • Maintain the company checkbook including all spreadsheets, deposits, and cash receipts.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
  • Enter Accounts Payable, working with the Purchasing department for any clarification.
  • Verify monthly royalty reports.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and sales representatives in regard to payables and receivables.
  • Review and identify all freight charges.
  • Prepare and support Yearly 1099 reporting.
  • Must be able to pass a vision test and a fitness-for-duty test.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Able to manually operate office equipment.
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting analytics.
