Job Description

The Senior Manager/Director of Data Centers is responsible for leading end-to-end development projects for large-scale data center infrastructure, including site selection, design, permitting, and energy supply negotiations, ensuring projects meet strategic, technical, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end development of data center projects, including site selection, design, permitting, and utility coordination
  • Develop and oversee project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and financial targets are met
  • Evaluate potential sites for data center development, assessing infrastructure, risks, and regulatory considerations
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to optimize data center layouts for integration with generation assets
  • Manage permitting processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Negotiate energy supply agreements to secure reliable and cost-effective power for data centers
  • Collaborate with energy providers, utilities, and internal teams to ensure sustainable energy solutions and proper infrastructure integration

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years in project management within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven experience in interconnection, energy markets, and substation infrastructure is required.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with interconnection processes, energy market dynamics, and substation infrastructure.
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of interconnection, energy markets, and substation infrastructure to guide project execution and resource allocation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory; extensive experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to work out of a Copia hub location a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
