Job Description
The Portfolio Finance Manager will lead financing activities in renewable energy project finance, manage transaction due diligence, and collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing financing requirements while maintaining relationships with financial partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financing activities including debt term conversions, tax equity fundings, refinancings, tax equity partnership buyouts, and asset divestitures.
- Review changes to transaction and project documentation, negotiate amendments and waivers, and seek approval and consents from financing parties.
- Manage transaction due diligence bringdown processes at fundings, collaborating with consultants, internal and external counsel, and technical teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Construction, Corporate Finance, and Asset Management to manage ongoing financing requirements.
- Manage financial tracking models and support internal and external modeling requests for projects in construction and operations.
- Communicate professionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives, financing institutions, and investors.
- Maintain relationships with tax equity investors, lenders, and other financial partners in the renewable energy sector.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience with a focus on project finance.
- 2 years of Renewable Energy experience.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, solar energy technologies, and project finance principles.
- Proficiency and proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Knowledge of renewable energy development.
- Experience in project finance and tax equity transactions, including maintaining and auditing tracking models.
- Proven transaction experience in the energy or infrastructure sector, preferably at a developer, operating company, private equity, management consulting, or banking.
- Understanding of tax-equity structures and partnership tax principles, and construction term loan facilities.
- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to gather, organize, and draw conclusions from data.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including discretion in handling confidential information and in communicating with third parties.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines, and identify critical items.
- Ability to work from Copia Office in Washington, D.C., Salt Lake City, UT, Lake Oswego, OR, or Dana Point, CA a minimum of 3 days a week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
