Job Description

The Manager, Permitting at Copia Power is responsible for leading the permitting process for thermal energy projects, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and entitlements from early development through construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain all necessary permits for early, late-stage, and construction phases of thermal energy projects.
Manage third-party consultants and experts supporting permitting efforts.
Coordinate with development, real estate, engineering, interconnection, and legal teams on permitting activities.
Develop permit strategies, track permit efforts, and work with local authorities to secure entitlements.
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to identify siting constraints, project design, and permitting strategies.
Engage with community stakeholders and regulatory officials to facilitate permitting and project approvals.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the energy industry.
Candidates must have experience with the permitting process for thermal energy projects, supporting all project phases from early development through construction, commissioning, and project financing.
Candidates must have experience supporting large portfolio projects through the full project cycle from greenfield inception, to financing, and through construction.
Candidates must have proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
Candidates must have experience with project management software.
Candidates must be able to work in the Dana Point, Salt Lake City, or Lake Oswego office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Candidates must have the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
