Perform electromagnetic analysis of superconducting magnets and inform design decisions
Work with experimental teams on instrumentation, measurement, and correlation of experiment to analysis
Develop new numerical tools, as needed, to facilitate multi-objective design optimization of high-temperature superconducting magnets
Perform non-linear, highly-anisotropic E&M simulations in complicated geometries
Identify enabling technologies in the modeling and construction of high-temperature superconducting magnets
Prepare reports and presentations as necessary
Mentor and guide new members of the team in magnet design and analysis as necessary
Requirements
Perform activities such as sitting for extended periods of time
Dedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
