Job Description
The Real Time Controls Engineer will develop, test, and evaluate control algorithms for the SPARC tokamak control system, focusing on managing a high-temperature plasma using advanced technologies. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to address complex challenges in fusion energy development.
Responsibilities
- •Develop, test, and evaluate real-time control algorithms for the SPARC tokamak control system
- •Create control algorithms and architectures for managing a 100 million degree plasma
- •Balance high fusion power goals with machine protection
- •Collaborate with software engineers, physicists, and instrumentation teams on multidisciplinary challenges
Requirements
- •Develop, test, and evaluate the real-time control algorithms for the SPARC tokamak control system.
- •Develop control algorithms and architectures to control a 100 million degree plasma using powerful superconducting magnets, megawatts of radio frequency heating, and fuel injection systems.
- •Work alongside software engineers, physicists, and instrumentation teams to address multidisciplinary challenges involving cutting edge control theory, simulation, plasma physics, software, and hardware.
- •Experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or robotics.
