Job Description
The Principal Electrical Commissioning Test Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating large-scale commissioning activities for the SPARC fusion project, working with multidisciplinary teams to achieve critical milestones and support the transition to first plasma operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, drive, and own large systems of SPARC commissioning activities through First Plasma
- Guide junior team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and technicians
- Participate as a strategic partner in commissioning projects to align department and company goals
- Mentor junior employees and act as a Subject Matter Expert
- Work with manufacturing, procurement, and assembly teams to achieve commissioning milestones
Requirements
- Experience in developing, driving, and owning large systems of commissioning activities through First Plasma in a fusion or related high-tech environment.
- Ability to guide junior team members and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians to support critical company milestones.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in electrical commissioning and testing processes.
- Experience in participating as a strategic partner in commissioning team projects and helping align department goals and objectives to larger company goals.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing, procurement, assembly, and other teams to achieve commissioning and project goals.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing commissioning plans for complex electrical systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mentoring skills to support and develop junior employees in electrical commissioning activities.
- Experience working in environments driven by values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings.
