Job Description
A Metrology Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems will develop and qualify mechanical inspection techniques for highly engineered hardware, collaborating across teams to ensure design requirements are met and operational processes are robust.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify mechanical inspection techniques for highly engineered hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, manufacturing, design, and R&D to meet design requirements.
- Identify solutions to challenging metrology needs efficiently.
- Establish and maintain robust metrology processes and systems across departments.
Requirements
- Develop and qualify mechanical inspection techniques for highly engineered hardware for the SPARC project.
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team including supply chain, manufacturing, design, and R&D to ensure that all design requirements are met.
- Excel in cross-functional communication and be operationally adept at quickly identifying solutions to challenging metrology needs.
- Have a strong technical background relevant to metrology, mechanical inspection, or related fields.
- Be proactive in working across departments to establish and maintain robust processes and systems.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws) is required, and any employment offer will be contingent upon such compliance.
