Job Description
The Manager of Diagnostic Support Equipment leads a team responsible for delivering hardware that provides functional support to fusion plasma diagnostics, ensuring seamless integration and operation within the SPARC project. The role involves both leadership and hands-on contributions to facilitate hardware delivery and system optimization in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide team leadership for the Diagnostic Support Equipment (DSE) team.
- Facilitate the delivery of DSE hardware to support SPARC operations.
- Contribute as an individual contributor to hardware development and delivery.
- Coordinate solutions between instrumentation systems and structural members such as buildings or vacuum vessels.
- Support the transition of systems from design to operation throughout the SPARC project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience providing team leadership for hardware delivery and support equipment in a technical environment.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities of an individual contributor to facilitate the delivery of Diagnostic Support Equipment (DSE) hardware as needed.
- Experience working as part of an integrated team that includes interfacing systems and science staff from outside of Commonwealth Fusion Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments driven by values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
- Willingness to work onsite at CFS as the role is designated LI-Onsite.
- Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with employment contingent on such compliance.
