Job Description
The Controls Software Engineer will develop machine and operational concepts, create system architectures for controls components, and oversee projects from design through commissioning and validation, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop machine and operational concepts in collaboration with R&D staff and engineering peers
- Create robust system architecture to support controls components such as PLCs, safety devices, HMIs, and servo drives
- Work from initial design through commissioning, operational fine-tuning, and validation of systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the equipment life cycle
- Integrate software into simulation and hardware testbeds
Requirements
- Responsible for developing machine and operational concepts in collaboration with R&D staff and engineering peers.
- Create a robust system architecture to support all controls components such as PLCs, safety devices, HMIs, servo drives, and more.
- Work from initial design all the way through commissioning, operational fine-tuning, and validation to ensure that all systems function reliably and meet their design goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the entire life cycle of the equipment and its operation.
- Integrate software into software testbeds, hardware testbeds, and tools in collaboration with simulation and test engineers.
