Job Description
The Solar Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing solar PV systems to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operation, with responsibilities varying by experience level from assisting in maintenance to performing independent corrective and preventive work.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair solar PV systems and associated equipment
- Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance independently or in teams
- Assist higher-level technicians with maintenance tasks and operational duties
- Ensure work complies with environmental and safety standards
- Participate in training and development activities related to solar system maintenance
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or GED, or be willing to obtain a GED within the first 6 months of employment.
- Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
- Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards, as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.
- Ability to operate a computer with technical proficiency of standard business software.
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license and have a good driving record, with the ability to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to work overtime and non-standard working hours including nights, holidays, and weekends, when needed.
- At least 1 year of experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M EPC experience.
- At least 2 years of field experience with significant I E, I C, and/or C I Electrician experience, which will be considered in lieu of applicable solar experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including single craft journeyman skills such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid state theory application.
- Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities.

Salary range of $54,000 - $88,000 depending on experience and location

Work schedule includes overtime and non-standard hours such as nights, holidays, and weekends
