The Senior Analyst supports tax planning activities related to US federal and state income taxes, transaction support, and compliance, working closely with various departments to optimize tax strategies and ensure accurate tax modeling and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support tax planning activities including US federal and state income tax, transaction tax return support, credits, and incentives.
Calculate tax basis, capital accounts, and transaction impacts; explain impacts for tax compliance.
Prepare memos and presentations documenting diligence and transactions.
Review financial models related to cash taxes, partnership capital accounts, and credit incentives.
Assist with tax research for complex tax scenarios.
Collaborate with Accounting, Business Development, and Portfolio Finance to support transactions and ensure tax modeling accuracy.
Drive process improvements to optimize tax planning and increase efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Education, Taxation, Business Administration, or similar field
At least 4 years of professional experience in tax-related roles
2 to 3 years of federal and state tax compliance or tax planning experience with a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
Partnership Sub K tax experience
Ability to calculate tax basis, 704b capital accounts, and transaction-related impacts while explaining the impacts for tax compliance
Experience in preparing memos and presentations to document diligence and transactions
Experience reviewing financial models, including cash taxes, partnership capital accounts, and credit incentives related items
Ability to assist with tax research for unique tax fact patterns
Ability to collaborate closely with Accounting, Business Development, and Portfolio Finance to support transactions and ensure tax modeling accuracy
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel modeling
Proficiency in PowerPoint for preparing presentations
Desire to learn data translation using Power BI, Alteryx, and Excel
