The Senior Accountant, Consolidations Accounting, is responsible for supporting month-end close, financial consolidations, intercompany transactions, system management, and compliance activities within a corporate energy company, requiring strong accounting skills and system expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the month-end close and consolidation processes, including reconciliations and intercompany eliminations
Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations for corporate accounts
Manage financial system metadata processes and coordinate with IT and legal teams for new entity setups
Analyze financial data submissions and ensure accuracy of system-generated balances in SAP and OneStream
Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, rollforwards, and cash flow entries
Coordinate quarterly post-close journal entries and facilitate audit deliverables
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls and assist with external audit support
Assist with special projects, system upgrades, and process improvements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting.
Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience in accounting and or financial reporting.
Ability to work productively and independently in a team environment.
Working knowledge and a general understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make suggestions aimed at refining and improving systems and processes.
Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets with large data sets.
Strong working knowledge of accounting reporting software, preferably SAP SAP R 3 a plus, Hyperion Financial Management, and or OneStream, as well as advanced Excel skills.
Experience with performing accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.
Experience assisting with the month-end consolidation functions, including reconciliation of investment and equity balances, intercompany eliminations, and clearing accounts.
Experience preparing SAP journal entries to equity settle CWEN Corporate’s intercompany payables owed to other Clearway business units.
Experience analyzing CWEN Corporate’s intercompany receivables on at least a quarterly basis and facilitating reimbursement to improve liquidity.
Experience coordinating intercompany equity settlements with Legal, Treasury, and Tax groups, and communicating with regional accountants to minimize rejected settlement requests.
Experience managing financial system metadata processes, particularly with respect to new legal entity formations.
Experience hosting monthly metadata management meetings with Accounting and IT organizations to set expectations and ensure timely creation of metadata in SAP, OneStream, and other subledgers.
Experience analyzing monthly financial data submissions from SAP in OneStream, including understanding of eliminations, equity pickup, and data management jobs.
Experience assisting with journal entry preparation and account reconciliations for corporate accounts such as debt, insurance, legal, accrued liabilities, and cash clearing accounts.
Experience overseeing completion of investment in subsidiaries and equity account reconciliations in OneStream.
Experience assisting with the preparation of monthly, consolidated rollforwards of various balance sheet accounts, including equity, noncontrolling interest, and other assets and liabilities.
Experience assisting with the preparation of cash flow journal entries in OneStream to support CWEN Inc., CWEN LLC, Renew LLC, and CEG’s financial reporting requirements.
Experience assisting with the analysis and preparation of quarterly controller package schedules for senior management.
Experience coordinating quarterly post-close topside journal entries, recording and consolidating entries in OneStream, and facilitating delivery of entries to audit as needed.
Experience ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls, process flow, supporting documentation, risk assessments, and monthly quarterly certifications.
Experience assisting with external audits, including client deliverables and follow-up requests for additional support or corrective actions.
Experience with testing OneStream upgrades and enhancements.
Ability to assist with ad hoc requests from other departments such as Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Accounting Research.
Ability to assist with special projects as requested.
