The Senior Accounts Receivable and Billing Analyst manages the billing process, ensures accurate invoicing, and oversees collections, supporting financial operations and compliance within a consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate invoices in a timely manner, including obtaining approvals and making adjustments as needed.
Review unbilled invoices to ensure timely billing and identify potential issues.
Liaise with external consultants and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
Assist officers with budget updates and work in progress reports for clients.
Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure collection.
Collaborate with colleagues to review aging reports, escalate issues, and write off bad debts when necessary.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
Maintain detailed records of billing and collection activities for audit purposes.
Generate and send project statements and payment reminders.
Assist with month-end closing processes, including AR aging analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with practice and finance teams to address billing inquiries and improve processes.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and VAT requirements.
Analyze AR and billing reports to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
3 to 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or similar finance role.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in ERP systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, applicable accounting standards, and all current UK European VAT requirements.
Generate and analyze AR and billing reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
