Job Description
The role involves analyzing, designing, and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs, working closely with engineering teams to embed cost-efficient practices and develop automation tools in a large-scale cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep technical analysis of cloud compute and storage consumption to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities
- Design, develop, and implement automated solutions for cloud resource optimization such as right-sizing, auto-scaling, and storage tiering
- Lead initiatives to increase utilization of existing cloud resources by reclaiming idle assets and promoting shared resource models
- Collaborate with application development, SRE, and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient resource allocation and embed cost-aware practices
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into cloud spend and utilization trends
- Contribute to the development of platform standards, policies, and guardrails that promote cost-efficiency and optimal resource usage
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE in a large-scale cloud-native environment.
- Proven expertise in at least one major cloud provider AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a strong understanding of their compute, storage, and networking services.
- Strong proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Java for automation and tool development.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes and orchestration principles.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization tools, including native cloud cost explorers and third-party platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems, propose effective solutions, and drive their implementation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Base salary range: $232,000 - $310,000 USD
