Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer in Release Infrastructure at Celonis is responsible for developing and maintaining core systems that improve software delivery, automate deployment processes, and enhance reliability across engineering teams, with a focus on scalability, automation, and developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Accelerate software delivery by improving automation and tooling to reduce Time to Production
- Design and implement developer-facing infrastructure to reduce friction and enhance software quality
- Collaborate with leadership to define the vision and roadmap for the internal developer platform
- Lead initiatives to expand GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and self-service deployment patterns
- Scale feature flag-based deployment strategies for controlled and reliable rollouts
- Enhance observability, incident response, and deployment safety across the software stack
- Own critical systems from concept to rollout, supporting them in partnership with SRE and other teams
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend, DevOps, and/or platform engineering roles.
- Experience as a full stack engineer, working end to end.
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Solid understanding of modern cloud-native systems, especially containers and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring.
- Proven ability to lead projects or own critical systems in production.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to solve problems and build great tools, with a focus on practical implementation over specific technologies.
